Message Due to the deep bruising, your best option is to continue letting the bruising go down, but still do some small stretching exercises. Since it sounds like your bruising goes deep into the muscular tissue, flexing any of the bruised muscle tissue may just agitate it more and require a longer time to heal (as well as be incredibly painful). I know you want to get off your feet and feel better, but rest is key (which I'm sure you're tired of hearing).

I'd be surprised if you spent more than another 2 weeks before you were feeling close to normal, assuming there were no torn muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc. If it truly is just major bruising, you should heal relatively quickly from this point onward.

Anyway, in a nutshell, don't push yourself too hard, but trying to be active is good for you. It will help you stretch out and feel better if you don't overdo it, and it'll use up some energy so you can get better rest and heal more quickly when you actually do sleep. Once the bruising gets closer to your normal skin color and doesn't cause a shooting pain when you put pressure on it, you'll be able to start doing more intense exercises to help you loosen up.

Good luck! Glad you're doing better and are recovering slowly.

Cheers,
JBrobst,

The woman with blue nuts.
